Heat/Damp in the Lower Burner: Defined by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as Damp/Heat because the area is inflamed and the urine is hot, turbid and often difficult to pass. Herbs that clear Heat and inflammation are combined with diuretics to pull out excess water, restoring flow and soothing the area. Heat clearing herbs are frequently anti-bacterial, antiviral, and antimicrobial; some are antifungal as well. Essential oil recommendations are listed in italics.

Pain: Cramp bark, Horsetail fern, Imperata, Kava kava, Marsh mallow, Nettle, Cypress , fennel, Marjoram, Juniper, Melissa
Incontinence: According to TCM, aging causes a natural decline of our constitutional “Essence.” By securing and astringing “Essence,” we can restore issues of urinary incontinence as well as promote increased longevity. Declining “Essence” can also produce conditions such as diminished hearing, memory problems, thinning bones, graying hair, lower back weakness and achy knees. Many herbs also help harmonize Kidney energy, significantly improving conditions of incontinence.
